In Greek mythology, music comes from the ancient Greek muses, who were the nine goddesses of art and science.

Music is important to people today. Some even say it’s their lifeline.

“I believe music is an important part of life. Most people like to use music as a way to express all of their emotions built up inside, and others may just want to have a good time. But I encourage people to listen and learn about all music styles because they could really enjoy it. I hope the love for music never dies,” said Mallorie Burton, senior.

“Music will exist no matter what. Nature itself makes music; it will always exist. People express all kinds of emotions through music, and it has definitely evolved into multiple tones and multiple genres,” said Jake Barker, junior.
“I believe music can have a very powerful impact on a lot of people. I’ve met many people that have said specific bands or music saved their lives,” said Kennedy Withrow.
“My opinion on music is that music can speak when a person cannot. It gives you a place to go when you feel like the world is against you. Music affects people in different ways. Music can affect a person by the words in the songs; the lyrics can change someone’s mood in a heartbeat. I believe everyone needs music in their lives,” Kelsie Myers, senior at Gretna Senior High School and member of the blue grass band Down 2 Earth.
Music has an emotional impact on the population everywhere. There are dozens of different current genres of music : Reggae, Hardcore Punk, Indie Rock, and even religious music. All different cultures in the world have different celebrations with different music. Mexico, America, Japan, etc. all haves their own forms of art in music.
