Boys’ basketball Senior Night ends in victory for the Cavaliers.

The game ended with a score of 54-38 with Chatham defeating the William Campbell Generals. The bleachers were packed with about 300 people; there was not an empty seat.

There are five seniors on the boys’ varsity basketball roster: Shamond Barley, Dawson Anderson, Torenzo Wood, Preston Turner, and Quinton Witherspoon.

All five seniors had strong statistics for their Senior Night.

Shamond Barley- 11 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals; Preston Turner- 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists; Quinton Witherspoon- 13 points and 10 rebounds; Dawson Anderson- 11 points and 8 rebounds; Torenzo Wood- 3 points.

The basketball team all around had a good season; however,  they did overcome some obstacles. “We had some small injuries, but we made it,” said Witherspoon.

It was a bittersweet moment for the seniors to play their last home game. “It’s a shocker that I never thought would come,” said Turner.

All the seniors think the upcoming team will be successful if they put their mind to it and never doubt. “If they come together, they’ll go far,” said Turner.
