Chatham High School students and faculty have diverse fast food habits.

They vary their choices by prices, favorite foods, and, sometimes, even nutrition.

“I eat fast food like five times a week, and I spend six dollars on it. My favorite meal is the Hardee’s All Star Meal. My favorite fast food place is Taco Bell, and my least favorite is Wendy’s because I don’t like their chicken nuggets. I don’t consider nutrition when I go get fast food,” said Cori Ayers, freshman.

“Five times out of the week is how many times I eat fast food. The price range is roughly around ten dollars. My favorite meal is a large fry and milkshake from McDonald’s. My favorite fast food place to eat is Dairy Queen, and I love their Blizzards. My least favorite is Arby’s because I don’t like roast beef at all. I don’t consider nutrition,” said Emma Myers, freshman.

“My stomach can’t handle it so two times a year.  My total cost is an on average, seven dollars. My favorite meal is the Chick’ fil a #1 meal. My favorite fast food place is Chick-fil-A because of their chicken. My least favorite is McDonald’s, most definitely. Does anybody really consider nutrition when eating fast food? Because I don’t think so,” said Gabe Mahaley, freshman.

“Two or maybe three times a week is how many times I go get fast food.  Depending on where I go, sometimes five dollars but sometimes ten dollars; no more than $11 though. My favorite meal is the Chick-fil-A, #3 meal with a Cookies ‘n’ Cream milkshake. I don’t know which fast food place is my favorite because it’s a tie between Chick-fil-A and Chipotle but my least favorite is McDonald’s. I don’t usually consider nutrition, but sometimes I get a salad from Chick-fil-A ,” said Darshei Trent, NCG counselor.

“I eat it too often, and I spend up to ten dollars when I get fast food. My favorite meal is the Arby’s medium roast beef with mayonnaise, tomatoes, and Swiss cheese. My favorite fast food place is Arby’s, and my least favorite is Taco Bell because I really don’t like their food. I don’t really consider nutrition,” said Brian Harrold, statistics teacher.

” Too often but less on weekdays, and I spend five to ten dollars a pop on fast food. My favorite fast food meal is Taco Bell’s Breakfast. My favorite fast food place is Burger King, and Wendy’s is my least favorite because their food is not my favorite to choose from. I don’t consider nutrition,” said Jo Davis, librarian.

“I eat fast food five days out of the week. It depends on the place on how much I spend on food. My favorite meal is the Taco Bell two soft  tacos with meat and cheese with a drink. My favorite fast food place is Taco Bell, and my least favorite is McDonald’s. I don’t consider nutrition when I get fast food,” said Emily Duncan, freshman.

“I eat fast food every weekend, and I spend five to ten dollars when I get fast food. My favorite fast food meal is the chicken strips with fries at Cookout. My favorite fast food place is McDonald’s, and my least favorite is Burger King. I do consider nutrition when I go out to eat though,” said Liliana Salcedo, freshman.

“I love Steak ‘n Shake. I order burger, salt and vinegar fries, and mint Oreo milkshakes. They are in located in Lynchburg; I eat there at least once a month. I spend about six dollars. I don’t consider nutrition when eating fast food,” said Ethan Dunevant, senior. “I also like Zaxby’s; I get the chicken finger plate with fries and toast. They have a Coke ‘freestyle’ machine that allows the customer to mix the drinks up. For example, I like to mix Orange Mello Yello, and the Cherry Mello Yello.

Mallorie Burton, senior, “I also love me some Steak ‘n Shake. I order the Chili Three Ways. That’s chili on top of spaghetti noodles. I also get their Parmesan and herb fries, and then I get a chocolate and strawberry milkshake. All that costs between eight and ten dollars.”

“I love China Shuttle! I order a plate where I choose noodles and an entre. I always order lo mein and sesame chicken. It’s filling and delicious. It costs around five dollars; I go there probably two times a month,” said Sophie Parrish, freshman.

Andrew Coles, freshman, said, “I love Mama Possums on 41. I order the hot hamburger plate with gravy on the fries. I think it costs around seven dollars. It is great.”
