Cavaliers crush the Wildcats

The varsity softball team defeated Dan River with a score of 7-4 in last night’s conference game.

Chatham took an early lead of 3-2 at the top of the second inning and kept it going throughout the night.

Jahna Waters, sophmore #5, pitched the entire game to get a win for the team.

Alex Gauldin, freshman #15, played lights-out at third base and also did well offensively.

Sage Crider, sophmore #3; Taylor Lester, sophmore #1; Destanee Estes, senior #14; Kelsee Hylton, sophmore #18; and Caroline Vicks, freshman #11, all played extremely well in the box.

Emilee Porter, senior #16, had two RBI’s to help put points on the board for the Cavaliers.

The softball team was very excited to finally get to play a game at their home field; flooding had sidelined the field previously. A win at home was a much needed morale booster for the team.

Come and support the lady cavs at their next game, Mon., April 16, 2018, at Bassett High School, against the Bengals.
