Varsity Softball
Chatham softball lost to Nelson County with a score of 11-3 on Mon., April 23.
Jahna Waters, sophmore #5, pitched the entire game striking out three batters. “I feel that our team played very well together; Nelson was just an overall better team,” said Jahna Waters.
Alex Gauldin, freshman #15, hit a homerun to score a run for the team.
Sage Crider, sophmore #3; Caroline Vicks, freshman #11; and Hailey Sims, sophmore #7, all played very well offensively.
The varsity softball team defeated Altivista with a score of 13-3 on Friday, April 20.
Bailey Oakes, freshman #8, started pitching to help the Cavaliers gain the lead over the Colonels.
Jahna Waters, sophmore #5, came in to pitch during the third inning.
All together the team had a good night in the box; especially, freshman #15, Alex Gauldin, going three for four with a two- run homerun and a grand slam.
The next game for the Lady Cavs is scheduled for Fri., April 27, against the Gretna Hawks at Chatham High School at 6 PM.
