The Chatham High School Army JROTC Cavalier Battalion held their annual awards ceremony  on May 10.

The ceremony is conducted by the JROTC instructors and cadet leadership.

The purpose behind the ceremony is to recognize all of the hard work, dedication, and participation that the cadets in the program have done throughout the year. Cadets had to meet certain criteria to receive national awards such as: GPA, class rank, and leadership potential.

Representatives from different veteran associations came to present awards to the recipients. Another event that took place at the ceremony is the Changing of Command. This is the process of the previous Battalion Commander leaving and the new commander being promoted to take command.
