Cathedral of Notre Dame Burned

Notre Dame Cathedral mostly burned down on Mon., April 15.

The iconic cathedral in Paris collapsed after a major fire Monday evening. The flames were under control but still not extinguished, no deaths were ever reported from the fire.

The Cathedral was undergoing renovations and officials think that that somehow caused the fire. The tower and wooden portion of the structure were totally destroyed.

Paris fire chief Jean-Claude Gallet said, “Monday evening, I believed firefighters had managed to save the cathedral’s landmark rectangular towers from the blaze. There was still a risk that some of the interior structures could collapse.”

Paris deputy mayor Emmanuel Gregoire, said “The cathedral suffered colossal damages.”

The French have vowed to rebuild the Chathedral and restore everything.Already hundreds of millions of dollars have been raised for the restoration that is estimated to last five years.
