Hollywood Actress, Doris Day, dies at 97

Hollywood actress, Doris Day, has passed away from pneumonia at age 97.

Her friends and family says she was in great health for her age until she became ill.

Day was known for her films The Man Who Knew Too Much and That Touch of Mink, those films let her be known in the film industry. She never received an Oscar and only was nominated one time. Day started her career as a big-band vocalist, and she always was successful in anything she did, according to The Daily Mail.

Day retired from acting in 1973 after starring in her own TV show, The Doris Day Show. She made a few appearances and wrote a book that was released in 1997.

Day lost her only son in 2004 and her only survivor is a grandson. She was surrounded by her remaining family and loving friends when she passed.

Her work will be remembered, and she will remain a star.
