Best Horror Games To Play This Halloween

It’s the spookiest time of the year!

There’s nothing better during this dark month than playing terrifying video games, so here’s our list of the best:

  1. Outlast follows investigative journalist Miles Upshur as he investigates Mount Massive Asylum, after receiving disturbing intel about what happens in the asylum. The goal is to escape the asylum while discovering its dark secrets.

Outlast is one of the best horror games ever made, and delivers on all horror fronts. It has great jumpscares, wonderful tension, a unique story, and provides a constant feeling of uneasiness.

Cavalier Chronicles gives Outlast a 9/10.

2. Our next selection, The Forest, is an open world survival game. Players play as Eric Leblanc whose son is kidnapped after the plane they’re in crashes on a remote island. Try to find your son and survive against the cannibals and monsters that inhabit the island.

While the idea of the story isn’t new, as you learn about the history of the island and the story, you begin to realize just how interesting this story is.

The Forest is a very fun and scary game. Build awesome bases and explore a massive island. Be forewarned, the games has some glitches. Most are game-ending, and can be fun to exploit.

Cavalier Chronicles gives The Forest a 9/10.

        3. Slender: The Arrival is a reimagining of the iconic Slender: The Eight Pages, and follows a lady named Lauren, who is trying to find her childhood friend Kate, after receiving strange letters from her. The search becomes a fight for survival as a mysterious and tall man chases you.

Slender: The Arrival is one of the better games based on the Slender Man character. There have been more games based around the character than can be counted, and most of them don’t really have a story, so Slender: The Arrival is unique in that front.

Cavalier Chronicles gives Slender: The Arrival a 7/10.

4. If you’re into really short and simple horror games, then Siren Head is for you. Siren Head is PC game that is styled as a Playstation 1 game and doesn’t have much of a story.

Play as a cop/ranger trying to find a missing person. As you search, a siren is going off. This is a game that you should go into knowing very little about, so we’re not going to get into the “big reveal” at the end of the game.

If this game was turned into a much longer, more fleshed-out game, then we could have a masterpiece of a horror game on our hands. That’s not to say that this a bad game or anything, but it would be nice to see this game evolved into a larger game.

Cavalier Chronicles gives Siren Head a 5/10.
