Disney Plus, which is a streaming service that can be found on different streaming devices and Smart TVs, launched on November 12.

Within 24 hours, the service has passed ten million subscriptions. The service is stocked with Disney’s collection of animated and live-action classics, as well as Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars films.

Disney Plus has a seven-day free trial for all users. The monthly fee is $12.99, which includes Disney Plus, ESPN, and Hulu. There is also a monthly fee of $6.99, or $69.99 for a year.

With the ten million subscriptions, about 3.2 million downloaded the Disney Plus app from the Google Play and iOS stores in the first 24 hours. Disney shares also rose 7%.

There are many Disney Plus originals, including: The Mandalorian, Lady and the Tramp, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, The World According to Jeff Goldblum,Noelle, and Forky Asks a Question. 

Students had mixed reactions to the new Disney Plus.

Sydney McBride, senior,  said, “I would definitely get it because it is like reliving your childhood.”

Jacob Martin, senior,  said,  “No, I would not get Disney Plus because I already have Netflix.”
