Caramel Apple Butter can sweeten up any meal with just a little spoonful on any item you would like to try it with.


  • 7-8 pounds of medium sized apples
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoons of ginger
  • 3/4 teaspoons of ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla
  • 30 unwrapped caramels
  • Slow cooker
  • Blender


  1.  Peel and dice the apples.
  2. Mix the apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. After mixing ingredients place it into a slow cooker and cover with lid. Cook on high for 6 hours.
  3.  Blend the apples until smooth. This can be done using an immersion blender or by transferring apples into a blender.
  4.  Return the apple mixture to the slow cooker and stir in the vanilla.
  5. Melt the caramels by microwaving for 30 seconds intervals until they are soft enough to stir.
  6.  Pour the melted caramels into the apple mixture and stir.
  7. Put the lid back on the slow cooker crooked so the air can vent. Cook on high for about 1-2 hours.
  8. Transfer apple butter to airtight containers. Keep in the fridge for 2 weeks or freeze for up to 6 months.
