Danville House Fire Leaves Couple Dead

An early morning house fire leaves Danville couple dead.

The Danville Fire Department responded to a fire in progress at around 4 AM, Mon., Feb. 17.

The fire occurred at 18 Oakland Avenue in Danville.

According to Battalion Chief Daryl Turpin, firefighters arrived at the scene with the house fully in flames.

The fire took six hours to battle. Once entry was possible, two bodies were found.

The victims were later identified by the Medical Examiner’s office as being Wesley P. Delaney, a 62-years-old, and his wife, Dawn Marie Delaney, who was age 51.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
