Positive Effects of Social Media

Social media can effect students in many positive ways.

“The average person spends two and a half hours on social media everyday. Around 4.2 billion people use social media which is 55% of the world’s population. 81% of people are spending more time on social media now because of COVID- 19,” said earthweb.com.

Most people agree that there are positive effects to social media.

“When I get on social media, I like to talk to my friends; I get on TikTok and laugh at all the new trends,” says Ka’Maiya Smith, freshman.

“When I get on social media I gain self-confidence,” says Quanadra Tunstall, a senior. “The little quotes inspire me.”

Most people agree that TikTok is the most popular social media platform.

“TikTok is the most popular platform, in my opinion, because it gives people the chance to express themselves,”said Smith.

“Snapchat is the  most popular, because literally everybody is on there, and that’s how much people meet each other,” said Tunstall.
