The student spotlight of the week is junior Kasey Martin.

She is on the varsity cheerleading team; she was on JV for two years.

“My favorite thing about Chatham is the teachers,” she said. She also likes school because she is  able to talk with her friends and learn new things.

“My mom inspires me the most; she is so strong and such a huge asset in my life,” she said.

“Outside of school, my favorite thing to do is hangout with friends, my boyfriend, and play video games,” she said.

“My dream job is to be a teacher. I plan on majoring in early childhood development to become a first grade teacher,” she said.

Her plan after high school is to go to Danville Community College for two years, then transfer to Averett University or Ferrum College.
