Chatham Varsity Baseball

The Chatham Varsity baseball team had six games the last two weeks against E.C. Glass, Gretna, William Campbell, Bassett, Tunstall, Altavista.

Wednesday 4/20 Chatham played Altavista and won 18-6.

Carrington Aaron was the starting pitcher and pitched two innings with five strike-outs. Kennen Lewis was the relief pitcher, and he pitched three innings and stuck out 2.

Nine out of the 11 players this game got on base. Jake Moore went 3-4 with a double and 4 RBI’s; Aaron went 3-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s; Cam Satterfield had a double and 1 RBI; Ben Williams had a double.

Tuesday 4/19 the Cavaliers lost against the Trojans 9-2.

Alex Van Pelt pitched the first 4 innings and had 4 strike outs. Cody Walden pitched 1 inning with 2 strike outs.

Moore scored one of the runs with Satterfield hitting an RBI. The Cavaliers scored their second run on a wild pitch.

Wednesday 4/13 Chatham won against Bassett 7-0.

The first five innings of this game was a defensive battle with no one scoring the first 5 innings.

Lewis pitched 3 innings with 3 strike outs and 3 hits. Van Pelt was the relief pitcher and 3 innings with 4 strike outs, Walden was the closing pitcher and had i strike out.

Friday 4/8 the Cavaliers won by slaughter rule (10-0) against William Campbell.

Kennen Lewis was the relief pitcher. He pitched 2 innings, had 2 strike outs, and gave up 1 hit.

On Wednesday 4/6 Chatham played Gretna and won 10-2.

Satterfield had 2 hits and a double; Moore had 2 hits and one was a solo home run; Zander Cornell had 2 hits with one as a three run home run; Van Pelt had 2 hits; Owen had 3 hits.

The final score of the game on Monday 4/4 was 9-2 with the Cavaliers defeating the HIlltoppers.
