Chatham Varsity Baseball

The Chatham Varsity baseball team had two games this week against Bassett and Dan River.

Chatham won against Bassett 12-10.

Kennen Lewis was the starting pitcher; he pitched two innings. Austin Whitelow pitched three innings and gave up one run. Carrington Aaron pitched one and a third of an inning; Cody Walden Pitched two-thirds of an inning.

Cam Satterfield went 3-4 with two runs; Aaron went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s, two runs, and a double; Jake Moore went 2-5 with a double, 2 RBI’s, two runs; Henry Hurt went 2-4; Alex Van Pelt had two RBI’s.

Wednesday, the Cavaliers beat the Wild Cats 11-4.

Van Pelt was the starting pitcher and he pitched 5 1/3 innings with eight strike outs, one walk; he gave up five hits and four runs. Satterfield was the relief pitcher and pitched the last 1 2/3 innings with 3 strike outs, 0 walks, 4 hits, 0 runs.

Satterfield had two hits and one RBI; Moore had two hits, one was a home run, and had six RBI’s; Dawson Newell had two hits, one RBI; Cornell and Van Pelt both had one hit and a double; Lewis had one hit; Colby Owen had one hit; Aaron got walked all four times at bat with one RBI.

The Cavaliers next game is Friday 4/29 against Nelson County at home.
