Chatham Varsity Baseball

The Chatham Varsity baseball team had three games this week: Nelson County, EC Glass, and Appomattox.

Friday the Cavaliers beat Nelson County by slaughter rule 15-3.

Kennen Lewis pitched three and two thirds of an inning; with three strike-outs. Chatham had sixteen hits in five innings.

Cam Satterfield went 2-5 with one RBI; Carrington Aaron got walked four times and earned 3 bases on balls; Jake Moore went 2-4 with a home-run and six RBI’s; Zander Cornell and Alex Van Pelt went 1-3 with a double; Dawson Newell went 2-4; Colby Owen went 1-2.

Monday Chatham beat EC Glass 7-4.

Lewis was the starting pitcher and pitched three innings with three hits and zero earned runs; Austin Whitlow pitched one and a third innings with three hits and one earned run; Cody Walden pitched one and two thirds of an inning and had two hits and zero earned runs; Aaron was the winning pitcher and pitched one inning with zero runs and zero hits; Walden got the save this game.

Satterfield went 2-4; Moore went 3-4 with three RBI’s; Van Pelt wtn 1-2 with two RBI’s.

Wednesday the Cavaliers lost to the Appomattox Raiders 7-6.

Van Pelt was the starting pitcher and pitched  1.2 innings with four hits, five runs, zero earned runs, and one strike out. Walden also pitched two thirds of an inning with two hits, two runs, and zero strike outs. Aaron was the closing pitcher of this game and pitched innings 3.2 innings with two hits, zero runs, and six strike outs.

Moore had one hit and two RBIs; Cornell went 3-4 with three hits, a double, and one RBI; Henry Hurt had one run and one hit; Lewis had one hit and one RBI; Owens had two hits and one run; Ben Williams had one run.

The next game is Fri., May 6, against Gretna at home.
