The Chatham Varsity and JV volleyball team played four games against Gretna, Tunstall, Appomattox, and Nelson last week.

Varsity lost against Gretna at home with the scores of 14-25, 12-25, and 26-28.

Senior Carter Beth Cassell led the team with 12 digs, four kills, and one ace.

Senior Haley Murugason led the team in kills with five. She also had one block, one ace, 11 digs, and one assist. Senior Paige Nixon had three kills, three blocks, one ace, and one dig. Madison Satterfield a senior had one ace, and three digs.

Junior Nicole Emerson led the team in assists with 17. Emerson also had one kill and 10 digs. Junior Taylor White had one kill and two digs. Junior Michaela Willis had four kills and two blocks. Sophomore Braylen Heath had four digs. Freshman Alanee Gregory had one ace and three digs.

The Cavs also lost against Tunstall at Tunstall: 7-25, 15-25, 17-25.

Cassell had a good game with nine aces and four kills. Satterfield had seven digs and two assists. Nixon had two blocks and digs. Murugason also had a nice game with five kills, five digs, one block, and one ace. Emerson had 11 assists and four digs. White had three kills. Willis had one kill, block, and ace, and four digs. Sophomore Madison Swanson had four digs. Gregory had five digs.

Varsity lost against Appomattox at Appomattox: 11-25, 10-25, 13-25.

Satterfield led the team in digs this game with 15. She also had two aces. Murgunson had seven kills, 10 digs, and two blocks. Cassell had another good game with three aces and six digs. Nixon had one block and dig. Emerson led again in the assists with nine. Emerson also had six digs in this game. White had one kill and two digs. Willis made three blocks, and one dig. Swanson made four digs. Gregory had one kill, ace, and two digs.

Varsity volleyball had their first victory of the season against Nelson County at home with the scores: 23-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25,22.

Satterfield led this game in digs again with 16. She also made three aces and two assists. Cassell made 11 digs, four aces, and four kills. Nixon had three blocks, two kills, and one dig. Murugason had a great game making 15 digs, eight kills, four blocks, and three aces. Emerson had 28 assists, 10 digs, four aces, and two kills. Willis led the team in blocks making 11. She also had eight kills, and three digs. Gregory had 13 digs, four aces, three kills.

JV only played three games and lost two.

They won against Gretna: 25-10, 28-18. At Tunstall JV lost: 13-25, 23-25. They also lost against Appomattox: 23-25, 7-25.
