Chatham Whoops Nelson

Chatham Cavaliers Varsity Baseball defeated Nelson County five to two.

“I get really excited to go to Nelson County because it is a wonderful place to play baseball. We were winning by two touchdowns so we stopped shooting our three pointers,” said Chad Anderson, head coach.

Kennen Lewis junior hit 3-4 (three out of four turns at bat) and got 2 RBIs (runs batted in) , while pitching four innings Kennen got three hits, two runs, one error, one walk, and seven strikeouts.

Caleb Cassell freshman hit 2-3, Payton Daniel freshman hit 1-4 with one RBI, and Jake Moore senior hitting 1-2 with two RBIs.

Carrington Aaron also pitched for three innings, got five hits, two runs, one error, two walks, and five strikeouts.

Kendell Sanders, senior and base runner, helped get two runs. He helped them get the first run of the game.

“We didn’t have the best performance but we still got that W [win]; my favorite experience was pitching because I had a lot of fun doing it,” said Carrington Aaron, senior.

“We could’ve played better but it was still a win in the book; my favorite experience was getting to go back to the team room because we got to listen to music,” said Jake Moore, senior.

“I enjoyed getting to help my team, I also have fun with my guys and I can’t wait for the rest of the season,” said Kendell Sanders, senior.
