Gun Found at Gretna Middle School

Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s deputies retrieved a gun from inside Gretna Middle School on Thursday.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from the school around 12:45 p.m. stating that a School Resource Officer had located the gun in a trashcan.

A juvenile was identified, arrested and charged with possession of a firearm on school property, possession or transportation of certain firearms by a person under the age of 18; and pointing, holding or brandishing a firearm. The juvenile is a GMS student.
