Homecoming Court is during halftime on Fri., Oct. 6, around 8 PM, when the Cavaliers play against William Campbell.
The king and queen will be announced that evening, and the other members of the court will also be highlighted.
The seniors running for king, queen, princess, or prince are Annie Terry, Destiny Brown, Kamori Smith, Madeline Doss, Sam Burton, Zander Cornell, Eli Goins, and Izaiah Harris.
The senior girls can choose between a black, white, or red dress to wear on the field.Previously, most choose to wear black.
The underclassmen girls: juniors, sophomores, and freshmen, will wear a black pantsuit with a white shirt underneath.
Students who are running for Homecoming Court are very fond of the process and are happy that they decided to do it.
“I’m running for the homecoming because I ran my sophomore and junior years, and I enjoyed it. I wanted to have a sash for all three years. I will walk with another nominated senior, Eli Goins,” Annie Terry said. Terry plans to wear a black dress on the field, while Goins will wear his football uniform.
“I want to run for homecoming because I think it will be fun to participate with my friends,” Madeline Evans said. Evans was nominated and will walk with one of the other nominated freshmen.
The other students representing Chatham are sophomores: Brenden Hedrick, Bennett Hubbard, Aziah Green, and Chloe Gay. Juniors are Lacey Mularo, Hiya Bhatia, Jacob Van Der Hyde, and Triston Smith.
The entrance fee is $7.
