Chatham started their varsity football season with 5-0 wins against Tunstall, Patrick County, Nelson County, William Campbell, and Altavista.
The Cavaliers posted shutouts against Tunstall and Nelson County, as they welcomed a new football coach.
Bruce Devlin was hired as head coach in July after Coach Joe Fielder left the Cavaliers to take the same role at Martinsville High School.
Many students at Chatham High School enjoy Friday night lights at home.
Students love being with their friends and dressing up for football themes for home games.
“I just hope to make it to the playoffs, and we are working really hard this season,” said Jaden Breedlove, junior. “I always try to encourage my teammates whenever they are feeling down during the games.”
