District C volunteers are working weekly to solve creatively business issues involving the Bee Hotel in Danville.
The students meet three times after school and also on weekends.
District C is a nationwide program designed to give high school students the problem-solving experience that they need to join the workforce.
District C began Sat., March 3, and meets for three weeks.
“Many people showed up excited, intrigued, and nervous all at the same time. Nevertheless, throughout the day students became happy and comfortable,” Zakyah Mansfield, sophomore, said.
The group is sponsored by Ms. Tara Stafford, science department.
District C’s goal is to get students to assist a business in the Danville and Chatham community with problem-solving.
“We meet with a business and solve their problem,” said Mansfield.
After the activities are completed, students enjoy spending time together.
“I enjoy going to the meetings and meeting people I haven’t got to know yet,” Donia Gashan, senior, said. “The meetings are pretty easy right now. I like how it is going.” said Gashan.
Throughout the ongoing weeks, the students will be working as a whole to help the Bee Hotel find solutions to address issues that arise with a new business.
