Graduation is coming, and students are preparing.
“Before the end of the school year, I need to take my, WISE test and try to get my grades up before exams,” Brennen Oakes, junior, said. “I’m not going to miss anything about this year; it has been pretty boring compared to other years like ninth grade. The only thing I’m looking forward to next year is that it will be my last. So far, the only summer plans I have is going to the beach with my friend Emma. We are leaving the day after school gets out and staying there for two weeks. I plan on spending all the money that I’ve been working to save,” said Oakes.
“Before I can graduate, I need to pass biology and work on getting my grades up,” Mason Harmon, senior, said. “What I’m gonna miss most about this year is I’m not going to be able to see the people I’ve grown up with. I’ve gotten so used to seeing the same people almost every day I don’t know how I’ll feel without them. What I’m most excited about for next year would probably have to be going into the army and getting started with my life. My summer plans so far are just hanging out with my friends, and I also have a trip to Miami planned for June,” said Harmon.
“I want to get elected into an officer position in FFA, pass my biology SOL, and take my English exam all before the end of the year,” Ashton Flick, sophomore, said. “I’m gonna miss having gym class with my best friend Elizabeth, and this is the last time I can take journalism, so I will also miss the class. What I’m looking forward to next year is just knowing that I don’t have too much longer left. Over summer, I plan on working to make some extra money, so I canĀ go shopping; I’m also hoping that my sister and I will be able to go to the beach at some point,” said Flick.
“I still have to do a lot of work for psychology to get caught up, but besides that I’m all set,” David Rice, senior, said. “I’m not going to miss anything about this year. If I could, I would be out of here by now. I’m looking forward to actually starting my life and getting prepared for the future. While I’m not looking forward to it, I am ready to start college and work towards the future. My plan for the summer is working, so I can try to save up some money to get an apartment, so I can move out of the house,” said Rice.
