High school students and fast, convenient meals are inseparable, and there are lots of local options.
Some prefer fast food, while others gravitate towards sit-down dining.
“I like Taco Bell,” Olivia Smotherman, freshman, said. “They have the best chicken quesadillas and Freezes [similar to Slushies]. I go whenever I get the chance.”
“Villages is pretty good,” Lane Burke, senior, said. “I get the baked spaghetti. It’s the one thing I can actually eat there [allergies], but it tastes really good, anyway.”
“I find myself going to McDonald’s a lot,” Allison Duffer, senior, said. “It’s quick and easy, and the cheap iced coffee is always a bonus.”
“Literally any Mexican restaurant is my favorite,” Harley Emerson, freshman, said. “The chips and salsa are so good; the tacos, too.”
Others prefer home-cooked meals.
“My grandpa’s steak and my nanny’s biscuits are some of the best food you’ll ever eat,” Cody Emerson, junior, said. “I’d pick those over a restaurant meal any day.”
