It’s Halloween, and the time has come for spooky treats; there is no spookier treat than a Litter Box Cake to kickstart the night.
Litter Box Cake:
1 dark chocolate box cake mix
1 tub of whipped chocolate frosting
30 vanilla sandwich cookies
10 chocolate sandwich cookies
Tootsie Rolls
Cow Tails
To Make:
Bake the box cake mix according to instructions in a 9×13 inch foil baking pan.
Remove the cream from all of the chocolate sandwich cookies, and from only 20 of the vanilla sandwich cookies (you want some crumbled cream), and set the removed cream in a bowl and set aside. Crumble all of the cookies together (the best way to do this is in parts, using a blender or food processor, crumbling about 10 to 12 cookies at a time).
Place cookie crumbs in a large bowl and set aside.
Once the cake is cool, level the top of the cake with a serrated knife. Set the leftover cake pieces in a bowl and set aside.
With the chocolate whipped frosting, frost a very flat, even layer, so that the cake is not visible underneath. Then cover the layer of frosting with the cookie crumbs (there should be extra crumbs).
Next, combine the leftover cake pieces and the cream from the sandwich cookies together. Once combined, make little patties (they do not have to be round) then roll the patties in the extra cookie crumbs. Once coated, place the patties on top of the cake.
Then mold the Tootsie Rolls and Cow Tails together to make little “poops.” Microwave the little “poops” for about ten seconds, then roll them in the leftover cookie crumbs, so that they are lightly coated. Then place the “poops” on the cake with the little patties. At this point, the cake should be looking just like an actual litter box. Lightly sprinkle the remaining cookie crumbs on top of the cake.
Enjoy, and shock all of your friends and family!
