Seniors are applying to college.
“I am applying to as many colleges as I can but, I plan on going to Johnson and Wales,” Tara Hatcher, senior, said. “I plan on studying hospitality and tourism management. To help prepare for college, I am applying to as many colleges as possible, and I am keeping my options open. The only bad part of college applications is finding somewhere close to home that has all the classes I want,” Hatcher said.
Other seniors have not started applying.
“I haven’t started applying yet, but I plan on applying to several places,” Audrey Erickson, senior, said. “I would love to go to William and Mary to study psychology and social work. I want to work in mental health hospitals for kids. I’m not sure what to do to prepare for college other than keep good grades and do well on my SAT,” Erickson said.
Some seniors don’t plan on attending a four-year college right after high school.
“I am applying for only one place because I have my mind set on DCC right now,” Hannah Wilson, senior, said. “I am going to study radiology to become a sonographer. I am keeping my grades up, and I plan on taking the SAT to help prepare for college. I haven’t applied anywhere yet because I am not going straight to a four year college,” Wilson, said.
“My plan is to go to DCC first,” Katie Moore said. “I want to do my basic classes there, and then transition to Virginia Commonwealth University to study interior design. I’m currently taking college level English classes, along with AP Calculus, and AP Government, hopefully to earn college credit so that I don’tĀ have to pay for those classes.
