Students often put up their Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving while many others wait until after.
“My family decorates either November 1 or the weekend after,” Tara Hatcher, senior, said. “Everyone in my family has their own ornaments, and we all take our time and put them on the tree together. My favorite part of decorating is being able to make Christmas cookies after,” Hatcher said.
“My family and I decorate either the weekend before Thanksgiving or the week of,” Kennedy Hanks, senior, said. “Every year my mom and I drink hot chocolate and listen to Christmas music while we decorate. My favorite part is when I get to buy gifts for everyone and put them underneath the tree,” Hanks said.
Others wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas.
“My family usually waits until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas,” Hannah Wilson, senior, said. “We always put the tree up first then do the rest of the decorations. My favorite part of decorating is putting out Christmas candles and making the house smell like Christmas,” Wilson said.
