Our school used to be an incredibly clean environment.
Lately it seems like this is not the case.
I walked around our building floor-by-floor recently, went into the cafeteria, up the stairwells, and maneuvered around corners, and checked out water fountains.
Most of the trash consisted of packages or containers from the vending machines. Many students consume them, apparently, from the amount of trash that was discovered’
Students seem to forget how to use the trash cans. An abundance of soda cans, empty chip bags, candy wrappers, water bottles, juice boxes, and milk containers litter the bathrooms, halls, and even classrooms.
Students bring their food to the hallways or staircases, and when they get done they leave it sitting around instead of putting it in the trash.
Students can remedy the trash situation and keep our school super clean.
Some ways you can help out and be responsible include:
*Pick up trash when you see it and throw it in the appropriate container;
*After consuming products always throw away wrappers and containers;
*Always use Trash Bins.
Chatham students and guests need to be aware of placing trash where it belongs.
