Klaus, a Christmas film, is certainly a holiday classic.
Directed by Sergio Pablos, Klaus is a whimsically written feature.
Klaus follows Jesper, a man who lives lavishly and leeches off of his father. Eventually, Jesper’s father gets tired of his son taking advantage of his wealth and his refusal to work.
Due to his father being a Royal Postmaster General, Jesper is sent out to work as a postman on a faraway island that houses a town named Smeerenburg.
Smeerenburg is found to be a chaotic battle ground of rivaling townsfolk.
Jesper meets many odd people during his work but one sticks out the most. He finds a man named Klaus who is a toy maker who lives in the woods. The two eventually team up together to teach the town about kindness by delivering presents to good children.
This film is witty and fun while also being aesthetically pleasing. It’s easy to find yourself getting attached to the characters by watching their growth and development throughout the movie. A mug of hot chocolate and a warm blanket is definitely recommended.
We think that this is the perfect movie for this chilly holiday season.
The opportunity to watch Klaus can be found on Netflix.
