High school students are stressed when it comes to applying to colleges and FAFSA.
For seniors all around the country, the stress is at an all time high around this time of year due to the pressure of applying to colleges.
This is because students need to have teacher recommendations letters, figure out which colleges to apply to, write their college essays, take the SAT’s or ACT’s, go on college visits and much more.
“Yes, I’m stressed because there’s not much time as everyone thinks, and I don’t know where I want to go,” Johanna Witcher said. “I’ve been working on college stuff for a while, and the stress is basically the same.”
“No, I’m not stressed because I already know where I want to go, and I have everything planned,” Kamaiya Smith said. “I didn’t spend much time because I already made my choice on what college I want to go to.”
“I’m not stressed because I have a scholarship for sports, but I can tell if I didn’t have a scholarship I would definitely be stressed right now about applying to college,” Tracee Saunders said. “I didn’t spend much time on college stuff because I only looked at the one college that I got a scholarship from.”
Students have been working hard with the college advisor to get their applications and FAFSA done.
There are tips to make the experience less stressful.
“Get good grades and start looking at colleges earlier,” Witcher said.
“The best thing to do its to not wait last minute and make a decision that benefits you with your life, not because you want to go and have fun,” Smith said.
“Some tips would be to stick with your sport if you play a sport and put yourself out there because you never know what can happen and you could do that for anything, not just sports,” Saunders said.
