The Beta Club brought home ten awards from the Virginia State Convention in Hampton Roads.
Twenty-seven club members participated in on-site competitions and online tests before going.
Everyone had a great time.
“It was fun,” George Riley, sophomore, said. “I enjoyed hanging out with everybody; that was the highlight of my trip.”

Members had a great time hanging out together and ordering DoorDash.
“I learned that DoorDash can come to conventions and deliver,” Harley Emerson, freshman, said.
The students watched performances by other clubs and performed themselves.
“The performances were really unique and creative,” Lainey Meadows, freshman, said.
Two members, Maddie Evans and Haven Jones, were selected as premier performers for dancing at the National Convention this summer after dancing at this convention.
“We had a lot of fun doing the scavenger hunt. Our team completed all of the scavenger hunt tasks and won,” Mrs. Rachel Corwin, English department and one of the Beta sponsors, said.
Next year, Beta hopes to place in the Musicology and Quiz Bowl competitions.
The members enjoyed participating in the “Living Literature” competition. The team recreated a scene from a book or novel. The team chose to do a scene from the novel Fahrenheit 451.
