High school is the last hurdle before adulthood; however, education does not always equate to successful adulting.
Some students feel like high school is very helpful at teaching and preparing students for life on your own.
Others feel like people can’t learn until they are actively out of school and living apart from parents.
“I do not think that high school helps students in adulthood, and school feels unnecessary,” Maia Satterfield, freshman, said. “I feel like high school takes a large amount of time for the same worksheet I could finish in thirty minutes.”
Some classes are useless to some people in adulthood, but maybe helpful to others.
“High school is so important as a student because it can help you finish some college classes and makes sure that you are on the right track for adulthood,” Kennedy Hanks, senior, said. ” High school has helped me tremendously when I am looking for the start of my adulthood. There are multiple classes that help me learn about so many things like: personal finance, government and independent living.”
Some students do not know how to budget money well, make a bed, do laundry, or enjoy life without having to spend money.
“I am not the best at managing my money just because when I see something I like I just go ahead and buy it,” Khamari Robinson, senior, said. ” I enjoy buying new things because it brings me happiness.”
Some students do not know how to make a bed or how to do laundry.
To have a clean environment where you rest and what you wear is important.
“Clean clothes and a made bed are key things for me to start my day,” Emily Kistler, senior. “I am glad that I learned what I know when I did, because it is a very big help in adulthood.”
