Everyone has a different perspective on what family truly means.
Some students believe that family means having someone who loves you unconditionally, despite your flaws and shortcomings.
“When I hear the word family, it reminds me of the movie Fast and Furious,” Jaime Simental, senior, said. “The main character Dominic Toretto is always talking about his family. I have a big family, and I come from a lot of love and support. To me, family sees the heart. It’s about the people you feel you belong with; the ones who will always be there to support and care for you, no matter what life brings.”

“What does family mean to me? Oh my gosh, I’ll keep it short,” Loren Witcher, freshman, said. “I love my family. No matter our differences, we come from a place of love and support. They would do anything for me, and I would do the same for them. I have a big family, so it’s going to be a challenge getting everyone to my graduation!”
Some students have had different experiences.
“Honestly, family doesn’t mean much to me,” X’ence Rodgers, seniors, said. “But my sister means everything. I would do anything for her because I love her, and that’s what families do.”
“Family means so much to me—especially my mom and brother,” Audrey Erickson, senior, said. “Without them, I wouldn’t be here today. My mom is the strongest person I know, and I look up to her more than anyone.”
