Books can be therapy for the mind.
Book choices depend on different people’s opinions and moods.
“I like to read Colleen Hoover books, as long as the book isn’t boring,” Naomi Davis, sophomore, said. “I haven’t read in a while but sometimes I’ll get really into a book. I get my books mostly from Target, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.”
“The reason I read is because I feel like I’m in the story as I’m reading,” Davis said. “My favorite book has to be It Ends With Us because it made such a huge impact on my life. Some books I recommend people to read are It Ends with Us and If He Had Been with Me.”
“I enjoy realistic fiction and non-fiction the most because I grew up with those genres,” Ethan Jacobs, sophomore, said.” I read nightly to challenge my brain and to take a break from technology and to embrace my imagination. I get my books from the Chatham High School library or the Pittsylvania County Public Library. A book that has changed my perspective of life has to be The Art of War by Sun Tzu.”
“Drama is my favorite genre to read because it is very entertaining,” Anardia Harris, junior, said. “I read everyday because it is better than being on my phone all day. I buy my books from Walmart, Etsy, and Amazon. It Ends with Us has made an impact on my life because it gave a better insight on domestic violence relationships.”
“My favorite thing to read are graphic novels because I like to see the pictures and what’s going on,” Linzy Crews, sophomore, said. “I read everyday in Mrs. Kapp’s class, at lunch, and on the bus ride home. I get my books from the Chatham High School Library or Ruby B. Archie Public Library. My favorite author is Raina Telgemeier because she makes books entertaining.”
