A new superintendent was hired 2025-2026 school year.
Mr. Steven D. Mayhew, currently the assistant superintendent, will replace Dr. Mark Jones.
Many students are excited to see the changes to come.
“I can’t wait for Mr. Mayhew to become the new Superintendent because I am hoping he will be more lenient with school delays and cancels,” Cole Estep, sophomore, said. “I’m not sure what changes he will make that will impact my day-to-day school life, but maybe this will be a learning experience for more than just him. There will be new changes for everyone that will affect Mr. Mayhew and our schools.”
Some students believe this change will have a negative impact on their school life.
“I just don’t know what having a new superintendent means for me as a student,” William Goode, freshman, said. “I have three more years of high school left; I don’t want this change to be horrible and my next three years be just as bad.”
