Hobbies entertain students and can also help with their identities.
“I like to play soccer because I’m good at it, and it brings out my inner child,” Bella Harris, freshman, said. “I don’t have a job, but I would like to work at Bubba’s Ice Cream when I get older. I get all of my school work done in school so I have time for hobbies. My favorite hobby is to draw because it makes me feel less stressed out. I mainly like to draw flowers, animals, trees, and mountains. A hobby that I wanna try is softball, but I don’t want it to interfere with me playing soccer.”
“After school I like to draw because it makes me feel happy, and it is very therapeutic to the mind,” Zakhira Smith, freshman, said. Unfortunately, I do not have a job yet because I haven’t found a good place to work. I try to finish my work in class so I can go home and relax. Group hobbies [board games] are my favorite because you don’t have to do a lot.”
“I play basketball because it is fun, and I stay fit,” Jaylen Brown, sophomore, said. “I don’t have a job because my mom wants me to focus on school. My favorite hobby is going to the gym because I used to be overweight. A sport I wanna try is baseball because I feel like I’d be tuff at it.”
“I like to go to the gym and workout because it makes me feel good about myself,” Paul Salas, senior, said. ” I do not have a job because I play sports. I do my work in my free time, or I ask my teachers for extra time to work so I can go home and relax. I like to do group activities because I enjoy interacting with other people. ”
