There are common misconceptions that people have about teenagers.

One student thinks that people base all teens off of the ones they surround themselves with.
“People think that teenagers are lazy or anti-social,” Grayson Oakes, sophomore, said. “I think they think that because some stay in their rooms all the time or are disrespectful to their parents. I think that causes them to view all teens in a generally negative fashion.”

“I think misconceptions are developed because parents did bad things when they were our age, so they think we will do those things, too,” Cole Estep, sophomore, said.
Students thought that people make up their minds about teenagers before they get to know them personally.
“Some [people] think we eat too much,” Hunter Hawkins, sophomore, said.
“Some people believe that we are all bad drivers,” EJ Linder, sophomore, said.”They think we are all delinquent when really we are trying to be upstanding citizens.”
“I think that it is a misconception that teens are always on our phones,” Javion Webb, freshman, said.”People just like to assume that we are always on our phone, but we are actually more active.”
