Music and its variety of genres is a vital part of teenage life in recent years.
Many students enjoy listening to pop.
“I listen to pop more than anything else,” Olivia Smotherman, freshman, said. “I’m actually obsessed with this song right now called ‘Pop Muzik,’ funnily enough. But I listen to some country, too.”
“I’m tied between pop and rock, I think,” Harley Emerson, freshman, said. “Those are my favorite. I listen to that type of music all the time except at night time. Then I’ll listen to more Indie to fall asleep. Indie music is really good, too.”
Other students enjoy country music.
“Country all the time; you can never go wrong with it,” Cody Emerson, junior, said. “The only other thing I’ll listen to is rap.”
“I listen to country,” Abigail Chivis, freshman, said. “So does my family. We enjoy it together.”
Others prefer older songs.
“Eighties’ rock is my absolute favorite,” Lane Burke, senior, said. “I’ll listen to it in the car and basically whenever else I have music turned on. I probably know more of those artists than my mom.”
