Mother’s Day is a special day to celebrate and honor mothers.
Students think highly of Mother’s Day.
“I feel proud, that I have a mother I love and connect with so I can celebrate her,” Mykaela Logan, sophomore, said.
“I appreciate my mother a lot, so I love that she has this holiday dedicated to her,” Leah Bridgeforth, junior, said.
Even when kids don’t have the money, they still find a way to get their mothers something.

“I am going to get a pretty balloon, a card that says something thoughtful, and some flowers,” Taylor Fitz, sophomore, said.
“I am going to make a basket with some things she really enjoys, and maybe some of her favorite snacks,” Bridgeforth said.
Mothers tend to say things like “I don’t want anything” or “All I need for Mother’s Day is you,” but a little gift will always be appreciated.
“Mother’s Day to me is a day to celebrate and be grateful for the blessings of motherhood, both the challenges and the joys,” Tiffany Graham, graphic designer at DCC, said. “It’s a reminder to appreciate the sacrifices made, the bond with my son, a chance to reflect on the role play in shaping his life and to recognize the strength and resilience of motherhood, and a hard day too because it reminds me that my mom is not here anymore.”
“It’s a time for you to express how thankful it is to have a mother who you know will always have your back and can rely on being there for support and a shoulder to cry on,” Wanda Mangum said.
All gifts are appreciated by mothers.
“My favorite gift from my child Allana was a hoodie that had my face on it, that said “World’s Best Mother” because it meant a lot to me that she went out of her way to do that,” Teresa Plummer said.
