The 2025 Kindness Club has already impacted the school community.
“I began the Kindness Club four years ago after a student, Alexis Colson, asked me to,” Ms. Tara Stafford, science teacher, said. “I loved the idea behind it. Alyssa Robertson, also a former student, pushed the idea forward to help the club reach its fullest potential.”
The goal of Kindness Club is to boost both student and staff morale as well as to improve the community.
Many who have joined this club did so with the inspiration and encouragement of fellow students.
“I enjoy the easy-going nature of the club,” Elizabeth Yeatts, senior, said. “I joined this club to be a part of the change in the school.”
Kindness Club members impact the community in many ways.
Student Bobbie Brownless says, “Last year we attended both the Thanksgiving Parade at the nursing home and the Christmas Parade to give them support and a little cheer during the holidays.”
Other contributions given to the community include giving out Teacher Baskets, setting up hygiene baskets in the restrooms, and having door decorating contests for teachers.
Future projects Kindness club has in mind is to volunteer and fundraise for the pet center , sell easter peeps, and fundraisers to fund the club for more activities.
“Anyone is welcomed! We meet in my room (E100) every other Friday,” Mrs. Stafford said.
