Life as a CHS student athlete is challenging academically and physically.
“I stay motivated by knowing that I have a goal to reach,” MarKayla Mayo, junior, said. “I hope to achieve in basketball the ability to be proud of myself. My teammates bring me joy and give me motivation,” Mayo said. “I have to stay motivated at school, practice, and home.”
With the potential of Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities in college, students must remain focused and have guidance in order to have a chance.
“Being a student athlete can be fun and complicated at the same time,” Jamya Johnson, sophomore, said. “I love being around my teammates, they bring us together.”
“I like being a student athlete, It keeps me out of so much trouble.” Loren Witcher, sophomore, said.
