Students have strong opinions about the new dress code for 2025.
“I think the leggings rule is ridiculous, and it’s not fair that the boys get to wear the shortest shorts but girls can’t wear shorts,” Linzy Bowens, freshman, said. “I think it’s not fair that the boys don’t really get called out for anything.
“I have broken the dress code before because I wore leggings that showed my backside, but I thought it was strange because I’ve worn it so many times before,” Bowens said. “I recommend changing the leggings rule and enforcing the boys’ rules more.”
Others agree.
“I don’t like the dress code, it’s very strict: I can’t wear the things I want to wear,” Gabriel Wishnevsky, freshman, said. “I have before for so called profanity on my shirt I was wearing. I definitely recommended changing the dress code to be not as strict for everyone.”
“I’m okay with the dress code because it really doesn’t apply to me, and I can wear shorts,” Coach Ben Burton, PE teacher, said. “I think the dress code is fair, and there’s nothing really to change about the dress code because I think it’s pretty valid right now.”
