The cell phone policy is more strict than previous years.
The Governor of Virginia set new guidelines for cell phone usage in schools.
At our school, students have their cell phones taken because they don’t follow the new rules.
Some students and teachers think that the cell phone policy is stricter than it needs to be.
“I think the policy is too strict,” Coach Ben Burton, said. “It doesn’t seem fair that if you can see the outline of your phone in your pocket, it gets taken, or if , in general, it falls out of your bag or anything, it gets taken. The phone policy could allow students to have an allowed time with their phones, like lunch, or time after their assignments.”
“The phone policy is very strict on all students,” Owen Hyatt said. “Many students get into trouble for having it in their pocket, or not having it off. Over the years, the rules have became stricter and honestly high school students should have more freedom instead of having more rules, since kids in high school are more matured and grown up then kids in middle and elementary schools.”
“The Governor of Virginia should set fewer rules for the cell phone policy,” Keysean Holland said. “All these rules for high schoolers are too much and not needed. Students in high school should be given more freedom to do what they want since we are older, and more mature than we used to be.”
