Students like to be clean; how they get there varies.
“I sometimes use a washcloth, but I prefer to use a loofah when I shower,” Octavia Blake, sophomore, said. “I use gel soap, and I take showers 4 times a week and wash my hair 2 times a week.”
“I use a washcloth when I shower,” Barry Jackson, junior, said. “I use gel soap, and I take shower almost every morning, and I also wash my hair too!”
Some people have shower routines.
“I wash my hair first with vegan shampoo and conditioner, then I wash my body with gel soap,” Octavia Blake, sophomore, said. “Sometimes I exfoliate before I wash my body with regular vegan soap. Then I shave if I need to, after that I rinse my hair out and my body off then I am done.”
Other students follow a similar routine.
“I put my hair up in a bun when I am not washing my hair that day because I don’t wash my hair every time I shower,” Rebecca Thatcher, sophomore, said. “I start washing my body with a washcloth and gel soap from my shoulders to my feet, and I am done,” Rebecca Thatcher, sophomore, said.
Hygiene isn’t just showering, it is brushing teeth and washing hands too.
“I floss and brush my teeth everyday,” John Robertson, junior, said. “I always wash my hands for 60 seconds before I eat.”
“I brush my teeth everyday and don’t floss, Barry Jackson, junior, said. “I wash my hands for 20-30 seconds before I eat.”
Cleaning your ears and wearing clean clothes are a part of good hygiene as well.
“I clean my ears right after my showers,” Thatcher said. “I do re-wear my jeans, but not my shirts; I change my shirts everyday.”
“I clean my ears every other day;I rewear my jeans or shorts but I do change my shirts everyday,” Robertson said.
