Hotlines are a great resource for students who don’t have anyone to turn to for support.
SAMHSA’s National Helpline
SAMHSA’s National Helpline provides help for drug addicts and alcoholics. SAHMSA provides a 24-hour helpline with free, confidential treatment referral, as well as prevention programs. They have operators in English and in Spanish.
National Sexual Assault Hotline
RAINN provides help for victims of sexual assault. They have a specialized line for veterans. On their website and during consultation they provide free resources to help survivors. They provide English and Spanish versions of their services.
Suicide Prevention Lifeline
The Suicide Prevention Lifeline offers a safe space for people struggling with suicidal ideation. They specialize in helping youth, Native Americans, Deaf or hard of hearing, LGBTQ+, disaster survivors, and attempt survivors. They provide services in Spanish and English.
Love is Respect resources and chatline
Love is Respect provides help for teens in abusive relationships. They provide a chat-line service, as well as resources for what to look for in relationships. They are open 24-hours.
