Students love their cats and dogs.
While dogs are typically known as man’s best friend, some consider cats to be more loyal and particular to the people they like.
“I’d have to say I like cats more than dogs,” Brooklyn Johnson, senior, said. “I think dogs are more forgiving than cats, so if a cat likes you; it says something about your character. I only have cats at home but my cat’s name is Velvet, and I like to call her Velveeta,” said Johnson.
“I like dogs more,” Payton Daniels, senior, said. “I just like dogs because they are cute, and you can do more things with a dog than you can with a cat. You can’t really play or run around with cats the same way you can with a dog. I actually have both at home, and I’d say they are fat and happy,” said Daniels.
“I think I like dogs more, but I still love cats,” Brennen Oakes, junior, said. “I think dogs are a little calmer because you can lie down with them, but with a cat they just do their own thing; it’s also easier to play with a dog. At home, I have a dog named Gus, and I think he is a genius,” said Oakes.
“I like cats more,” Natasha Imus, senior, said. “I like cats more because they are nicer in my opinion. You can chill with a cat; a dog just wants to play around. I have three cats and a dog. One of the cat’s names is Houdini because he is an escape artist,” Imus said.
“I’d choose a dog over a cat,” Ashton Flick, sophomore, said. “Dogs have more personality and can build a bond with you, but cats are just living in their own world. I don’t have any pets besides farm animals, but if I did have a pet it would be a dog, probably a German shepard,” Flick said.
“Personally, I’d say dogs are better,” Nikole Imus, freshman, said. “Dogs are more loyal and protective over their owners than a cat would be. A dog could get rid of an intruder while a cat would just watch it happen. I have a dog, he is a pitbull-Chihuahua mix, and I’d say he is shaped a little weird,” Imus said.
