As the homecoming game and pep rally approaches, students at the school are divided about their excitement for the upcoming pep rally and game.
Freshman Gabriel Wishnevsky seemed less than enthusiastic about the events.
Some freshman are worried about the persistent annual rumor that upperclassmen will pelt them with batteries as they enter the gym for pep rally.
“Ain’t no one hitting me with a battery,” Gabriel Wishnevsky, freshman, said. “I’m not particularly excited, but I do plan to go to the game with a few friends.”
La’Bron Jackson, also a freshman, is taking homecoming seriously.
“If that’s what it takes to go to the pep rally, I will take a hit from the batteries,” Jackson said. Jackson, who is on homecoming court, said, “We have great players and we should win. I’m excited because this is my first homecoming.”
Fellow freshman Ella Pruitt had a more lighthearted take. “Mmm no, didn’t know it was a thing about the batteries,” Pruitt said about the pep rally. “I’m looking forward to the game. I’m so [not] excited to get batteries thrown at me.”
