Summer break is something students look forward to.

Students are getting closer to the end of the school year which means summer break is near.

Some students continue doing sports over the summer.

“I’m going to North Carolina with my dad,” Corry Banner, freshman, said. “I’m looking forward to my AAU Basketball Season (Amateur Athletic Union) travel basketball. Over the summer, I just want to improve my basketball skills and stay in the gym.”

“I have a few trips planned for this summer,” Markayla Mayo, junior, said. “I’m going to Myrtle Beach with my family. I’m also going to Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, and Pennsylvania with my AAU basketball team. I want to improve my mindset and build my confidence back up.”

Going to the beach is a popular activity to do over the break.

“I’m so excited for summer break,” Loren Witcher, sophomore, said. “I’m going to Myrtle Beach with my friends and family. During the break I just want to hang out with my friends and get tanned. I want to work on my soccer skills over the summer a little more.”

“My family and I are going to the beach,” Khloe Taylor, freshman, said. “I love going to the beach. I just want to get tanned and hang out with my friends.”

“I’m going to Myrtle Beach with a few of my friends,” JaMya Johnson, sophomore, said. “I wanted to go to celebrate my birthday and just enjoy the ocean. I want to visit a new place and try new things before the break is over.”

Some students don’t really prefer to go on trips.

“I don’t have any trips planned for the summer yet,” Taylor Fitz, junior, said. “I do want to visit some water parks and celebrate my birthday with my friends. My main goal I want to achieve over the summer is to get my first job and get my learner’s permit.”

“I don’t have any big trips planned,” Nadia Rigney, freshman, said. “I am going to go to Buggs Island with my family and a few friends. I want to go swimming, horseback riding, and go to the beach over the break. My biggest goal I want to achieve before the break is over is getting my learner’s permit and getting community service hours for Beta and Graduate of Merit.”
