Thoughts After PCYLA
Many exhibitors from Chatham High had a very rewarding weekend at the county livestock show.
Student exhibitors got the opportunity to show off all their hard work with their animals after months of training.
Grand Champion Intermediate Goat Showman, Lamb Showman, Cattle Showman, Grand Champion Market Lamb, and Grand Champion Market Goat were all won by sophomore Kaylee Bergeron.
Grand Champion Intermediate Hog Showman and third overall market hog were won by sophomore Gabrielle Bergeron.
Reserve Champion Intermediate Cattle Showman, Reserve Champion Market Steer were all won by sophomore Mason Lawrence. He also helped fit Grand and Reserved Breeding Doe along with Grand Champion Market Goat.
Reserve Champion Senior Goat Showman won by sophomore Braelyn Heath.
Grand Champion Breeding Doe won by sophomore Emma hodnett.
Grand Champion Senior Showman for hogs won by sophomore Allison Duffer.
“The months leading up to this show are always stressful, but my hard work definitely paid off in the end,” said Kaylee Bergeron.
“I had so much fun showing my goat for the first time this year and can’t wait for the show next year,” said Heath.
“Getting to fit the champion goats for this year was very special to me, since it was my first year fitting some of the goats that were brought to the show,” said Lawrence.
